BURBANK
Famous for being the home to Walt Disney, Warner Brothers Studios and NBS, among others, Burbank is also known for its ranch style and kitschy living. Minutes to Hollywood and a short drive to Downtown LA, it is centrally located within the Los Angeles basin. Burbank consists of two distinct areas: a downtown/foothill section, in the foothills of the Verdugo Mountains and the flatland sections. The City was named after David Burbank an entrepreneur and dentistwho first established a sheep ranch in 1867.
A residential area of Burbank, named Burbank Rancho has old stately homes with usable horse property. The sight of someone walking their horse down Riverside drive is not out of the ordinary. Burbank is also home to the famed Griffith Park Equestrian Center, Media Center shopping, Ikea, Portos Bakery, Bob Hope Airport, top public schools, and so many other things.
