STUDIO CITY
Originally known as Laurelwood (1887), Studio City was later established in 1927, being named after the studio lot built by Mack Sennett. Studio City encompasses approximately 6.31 sq.miles and is home to some of the best shopping, restaurants, schools, etc. Studio City, as it’s namesake, is home to CBS Studio Center and within close driving distance to Universal and Warner Brothers Studios.
Within Studio City proper is the highly desirable “Colfax Meadows” neighborhood which is within walking distance to “Tujunga Village”, known for its hip stores and restaurants. Along Ventura Blvd. there is access to top restaurants, shopping, gyms and hiking at Fryman Canyon.
Studio City is home to a variety of public and private schools that include Carpenter, Walter Reed Harvard-Westlake, Campbell Hall, etc. It has it’s own Library, Studio City Recreation Center, Beeman and Woodbridge Parks, as well as a few “mini” parks within the neighborhood.
Studio City is centrally located to many areas. It is a short drive “over the hill” to West Hollywood, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and easy freeway access to the 101 and 405 freeways.
